About

Life is a love story. I like to imagine the idea of me in post-war Taiwan, as a twinkle in my dad’s eye and a dream in my mom’s heart. My parents actually met in Indiana during grad school and moved to Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The day I was born, dad accepted a job with IBM (after hiding in the delivery room closet). My sisters and I grew up in New York, Kuwait, and Japan. Our time in Kuwait was cut short because of war, I’m told, and not the persistent sheik who tried to buy me for many camels (true story).

I went to the American School in Japan and Phillips Academy (Andover). I have two degrees from Stanford University, a Bachelor’s in International Relations and French Studies, and a Master’s in International Policy Studies. I also studied at l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences-Po) in Paris and the Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies in Tokyo. I launched my career as a Bain consultant in San Francisco. I was a corporate vice-president for Prudential Financial in Newark and a managing director and head of corporate marketing for Putnam Investments in Boston.

After decades kneeling at the altar of academia and corporate America, everything was suddenly so personal. I gave birth to two luminous children who initiated me into adulthood by fierce grace and vaccine injury.  A portal opened and, though I really didn’t want to, I crawled through.

I dove head first into the PubMed vault and re-emerged… focused. Through radical lifestyle changes and parent-vetted, natural modalities, my boys lost their diagnoses and the medical hexing was lifted. As they thrived, I found my voice. Supported by heart-centered and like-minded colleagues, I started Life Health Choices in 2009 and Fearless Parent in 2013, to share information in community. I wanted to acknowledge the deep desire for connection and the universal struggle parents face in making informed choices in a complex world.

To inaugurate this new site, I created a second URL affirming my intention to lower the sword and surrender the ego mind to the sole alternative that remains. Please call me on it. You can find me at fearlessparent.org and the alias lovelouise.org because, well, there’s only fear and love.

love,
louise ❤️
