Whether you want all, some, or no vaccines, you must ask if you believe in medical freedom.
Do you want to live in a world where you cannot freely refuse a medical procedure that carries risk of injury or death?
I’m not questioning your comfort level with today’s vaccine schedule, because today’s vaccine schedule will change. New vaccines and additional doses are added all the time.
- Children today receive as many as 70 doses of 16 vaccines by age 16, which is over 15 times higher than the number of doses administered to children in 1940 and 3 times the number given in 1983.
- Vaccines are a $33 billion global market with projections to surpass $100 billion by 2025. Who will be getting all these vaccines?
- There are nearly 300 vaccines in the developmental pipeline for children and adults — and no end in sight.
Are you certain you will be 100% comfortable with the vaccines that will be mandated in 5, 10, 25 years?
No critical thinker, no honest person would ever sign off on the sight-unseen vaccine schedule of the future. And yet that’s what you’re doing when you condemn the people who are fighting for your right to refuse. Today, you have the right to refuse, should you ever choose to use it, because the very “anti-vaccine” people you demonize have been fighting for us all.
Right now, the burden of “herd immunity” — a false epidemiological construct designed to justify vaccine mandates — falls on small children, but that is changing. Vaccine manufacturers see an untapped market in adults and are coming for you next.
What will you do if your state, your employer, or your insurance company forces you to get a vaccine that you simply don’t want? Perhaps it hasn’t happened to you yet, but if the right to refuse is eliminated, it will and faster than you might think. Who then will you turn to?
- Our “representatives” who are besieged by lobbyists and get campaign donations from pharmaceutical companies?
- The CDC that has a revolving door with Pharma?
- Your doctors who fear being brought up on disciplinary charges and losing their licenses to practice?
- Mainstream media, which panders to industry and insists on politicizing a non-partisan issue? (U.S. is ranked #46 in the World Press Freedom Index 2014 behind Romania, Papua New Guinea, Slovenia, South Africa, Botswana, El Salvador, Latvia, Trinidad & Tobago, and Suriname among others. Haiti is #47.)
Who will you turn to if you ever want to say no?
There will be no one.
Have you noticed that some political and medical leaders are calling for a federal vaccine mandate and elimination of all exemptions? President Obama said: “There is every reason to get vaccinated — there aren’t reasons to not.” Did you see what happened when New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said that parents should have some measure of choice when it comes to vaccination? (He was slammed but The Washington Post allowed me to give him some well-deserved air cover.)
Once we start down that slippery slope by removing an individual’s right to refuse medical procedures that carry the risk of injury or death, we open ourselves to an insidious new era where other drugs and procedures can be mandated.
I heard (on NPR, interestingly enough) that there are people who want to test for a gene marker that’s been found in mass murderers in the hopes that they can put the carriers of that gene on medications in early childhood. If you think that sounds great, consider this. Many of us carry genes that will never be expressed. You or your loved one could be a carrier of that gene. If we follow the “for the greater good” mentality behind vaccines – analogous to the Nazi’s “for the greater good” mentality behind eugenics to breed out illness — we could be looking at forcing people who may never express a “sociopathic gene” to take antipsychotics, just in case. Because that’s what forced vaccination does. It requires children who may never “express” a particular virus to accept a vaccine (with all its risks) just in case. And that’s what eugenics was all about. It sterilized people who could’ve passed on a genetic disease, just in case. (Did you know that the modern eugenics movement was born in the U.S.?)
The US government promotes, recommends, and mandates vaccination while compensating families for death and injury to the tune of $4 billion to-date, and while acknowledging through its own Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System that there have been hundreds of thousands of people who sustained catastrophic brain damage or other grievous injuries, or who have died as a result of vaccines.
Forced vaccination is a human rights violation. Any government that enforces it is at risk of losing moral authority over its people.
Here is today’s playing field: Organized medicine, corporate philanthropy, and Big Pharma have marketing budgets larger than the GDP of some countries. The CDC has strings-attached funding to state health departments to promote vaccination. Industry and government are partnering to track and monitor us with electronic health records and immunization information systems. Media are calling for the unvaccinated to be penalized or jailed. Congress passed the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act granting near blanket liability protection to vaccine manufacturers for a product that is known to cause death and injury, acknowledged to be “unavoidably unsafe.”
As it stands today, you can’t sue a vaccine manufacturer if your child is injured or killed by a government recommended vaccine, even in cases in which the company chose not to distribute a safer vaccine (i.e., acellular versus whole cell pertussis) or when it failed to recall a contaminated or “hot” lot in a timely manner or if the product is determined to have a design defect.
Think about that. You can’t sue the manufacturer. Our government removed the only consumer protection with teeth. That immunity from liability does more to shake parents’ confidence in vaccines than anything else out there.

Thank you for this well reasoned article. One of the biggest problems I have with the current vaccine controversy is there is so much hatred and vitriol surrounding it coming from both sides. It seems no one wants to learn from each other. While your arguments are firmly in anti-vaccination (or seem to be), you present your arguments in a respectful manner. I appreciate that, and we need everyone to do that so parents can learn to do what’s right for their situation, not make decisions based out of fear. Just the other day, a family member lambasted me for my position of personal choice. She was shaking with emotion, while I was very calm. I wanted to learn from her, but she did not want to learn from me. The conversation did no good for anyone, and ended up alienating family members.
You have very wise words Brian. I have been looking like the moron in the family ( not pertaining to you) as the open minded, f*ck what society tells you …to believe circa: I’m aware of the harm vaccines can possibly do to a person, and just having….a New nephew…OMG all I wAnt to do is protect him. But again nobody will listen. So aggrivating. My sister read some of the information I gave her, but I do t know what’s goin to happen next. I pray for the health and wellness of baby. If only I could make the choices : ( thanks for for not letting me feel alone…xoxox
Did you recommend against circumcising the new nephew since that’s an unnecessary medical procedure with certain injury and a risk of death?
Yep, so many people choose their positions based on fear. And the media is fueling it.
There were 3600+ deaths from the flu in 2013 in the US. Currently there are 765 cases of measles in 2014-2015 and zero death as of now. Knock on wood. But there are thousands of viruses out there, how many shots can we get? Either with or without vaccines, it is our immune system that will be fighting the battle. Why not focus on having a healthier lifestyle and diet, food & nutrition, which can better support the immune system?
final death data from the CDC is not available yet. on average since 1969, 1908 people a year have died from the flu. But that doesn’t sell vaccines does it.
I am sorry to hear about the difficult conversation you attempted to have with a family member. It certainly is a difficult subject to discuss – though, as you stated, doesn’t have to be. I have had the privilege of knowing Louise for many, many years. I have learned a lot from her. One thing I do know is that Louise is not “anti-vaccine”. Louise is fighting for CHOICE! Our bodies, our choice. Our children’s bodies, our choice. We are fighting for Religious Freedom granted to us by the US Constitution as well as state constitution. This is a slippery slope we are embarking upon. A very scary time where government is overstepping. We must all come together to fight for our rights.
Fear is a poor adviser. However, when anyone on either side of a dispute feels powerless and threatened by the actions of the other person, there you have it! The worst of it is that when we are engulfed in fear, we can be manipulated by those who use that weakness…such as the media, who SHOULD be presenting facts dispassionately, supported by studies not repeated untrue statements designed to brainwash like advertising jingles. Obviously facts need to be propagated about the vaccinated getting sick what they were vaccinated against & spreading the disease, illness caused by vaccination, etc. to balance considerations. Thanks for this article!
Medical Choice: First they came… (youtube clip)
So very true.
Thank you! For the info and opening our eyes and attitudes.
if vaccines are so safe, why do anyone receiving one have to sign
a waiver saying they cannot sue for any side effects from the
Vaccines? No forced vaccines for me!!!
No should be able to force a medical procedure on anyone. Just keep your unvaccinated kids away from mine.
Melissa, why should I keep my unvaccinated kids away from yours? You presumably vaccinated them so they’d be immune to disease which means even if my kids were sick, which they never are, your ‘immunized’ kids would be exactly that, immunized. If you think they can catch something from my kids, you don’t have much faith in vaccination.
Joanna you are correct. If you have such little faith in the “vaccines” then perhaps Melissa should question why she vaccinates in the first place? How far should this ridiculous idea go? Should we put people with cancer in jail because their immunity is so compromised that they are susceptible to contracting diseases that the regular population is not, thus one could argue that “cancer patients” are dangerous to society. What about pregnant women? Another population who is more “susceptible” to illness. So by your definition pregnant women should stay away from your children, too, Melissa. I say this not to attack or to be critical rather to invoke some independent thinking into question with the very people who stand to make a boatload of money from you choosing to vaccinate your child. They have been brainwashing you to think this way, in absence of any real science to back them up. Then if your child is injured they are absolved of anything? That ALONE Should be thought-provoking. Consider this: if I was trying to sell you a product and I promised you that this product did everything and was 100% safe and I had lifetime immunity from the government stating that if someone is injured from my product no one can sue me. WOULD YOU TRUST MY PRODUCT? If you answered yes then you’re a very naïve person.
Also, what doctors fail to disclose about vaccines is when you look at the history of vaccines, they only become a very complicated issue when there’s poor nutrition. For example, the measles vaccine is only “serious” and “complicated” when there is a vitamin a deficiency. This is well-established research. There is a lot of information that has been suppressed about vaccine history. For example there is well documented history that proves the vaccines did not save humanity. I will not continue to ramble on, as this is getting outside the scope of this well written article. I have also found in the past when I do provide credible sources people tend to dismiss them because they does not fit their predetermined fallacy, which they are unwilling to question.
Respectfully,
InformedMommie
Very good article. No matter where you stand on the vaccine issue no person who actually uses his brain can argue with this well-informed article. Thank you
It seems the general culture in America today is “it’s okay for someone else to force something on anther person” however that person advocationg for such “force” wouldn’t likely want to be subjected to the same treatment.
