unhealthy-truth-pbIf you already eat organic, avoid GMOs, and grow your own veggies, maybe you think you don’t need to read this book.

Think again.

The truth about our food supply is every bit as bad as you think. No, I stand corrected.

It’s worse.

In 2009, Robyn O’Brien published her landmark book, The Unhealthy Truth, and the truth is, not much has changed in the past five years.

Motivated by her own children’s severe allergic reactions to “normal food,” this mom of four set out on a mission to figure out why. Using her research skills honed as a food industry analyst, she uncovered stunning information about the degree to which our food is manipulated, subsidized, and toxic.

U.S. companies like Kraft and Mars feed our kids the toxins but remove them when selling to Europeans because their governments and consumers won’t stand for it.

For parents who know better, we aren’t even able to avoid it all because there are no labeling disclosure laws, and these huge conglomerates are fighting for the right to keep it hidden.

Here’s what Robyn wants you to know:

1. Fight for labeling laws. Support Just Label It and tell the FDA that U.S. consumers have a right to know what’s in our food.

2. Stop buying junk food. If it’s packaged and processed, it’s junk. These companies take your money and use it to manipulate you.

3. Write to companies that are making positive changes and thank them for giving us better choices. Help give them political air cover when they go into their board and shareholder meetings.

As bad as things are, they can get worse. Wait until you hear what could be on the horizon when it comes to genetic engineering. You might think that nothing surprises you anymore. This will.
